Buongiorno da Ilary!

Cosa mi rispondereste se vi dicessi che potreste sciare, volare (!), fare climbing, giocare a bowling, mangiare, andare al cinema e fare shopping , tutto nello stesso giorno e nello stesso posto ?! Credo ne sareste entusiasti!

Xscape e’ un centro commerciale un po’ sui generis che offre la possibilita’ di trascorrere un’intera giornata indoor, perfetto per una domenica invernale per esempio…cavoli e’ settembre e parlo gia’ di come trascorrere le domeniche invernali, sono proprio a Londra! In Puglia starei facendo i non ultimi bagni..!

E’ situato a Milton Keynes, a circa un’ora e quaranta di macchina da Londra e raggiungibile anche con treni o bus (National Express per esempio).

Xscape e’ piu’ un centro “di intrattenimento” che un semplice centro commerciale, poiche’ al suo interno contiene una serie infinita di attivita’ da svolgere!

Prima fra tutte, e forse la piu’ sorprendente, e’ l’Airkix, ovvero il volo indoor. Indossati la tuta, gli occhiali da aviatore ed il casco, vi abbandonate letteralmente in un grosso tubo dal cui pavimento fuoriesce una forte corrente d’aria che vi permette di librarvi in alto! Ovviamente siete accompagnati dall’istruttore che alla fine vi regala anche una mini performance delle sue acrobazie aeree e vi consegna il diploma di volo!

Soddisfatti dell’attivita’ aerea sono certa vi venga voglia di dedicarvi ad un esercizio piu’ terrestre. Perche’ allora non ritrovarvi in montagna?! Potreste iniziare con una bella scalata dell’ alta parete per climbing installata in uno dei negozi di articoli sportivi e proseguire con un’oretta di sciata nella Snozone che ricrea appunto una pista da sci con tanto di neve e manovia e la possibilita’ di noleggiare l’intera attrezzatura! (Immaginate la scena di una giornata estiva qui: camminando per il centro incontrate ragazzi in bermuda, persone con la tuta da neve e scarponi e gente con le scarpe da bowling magari!)

Ma perche’ ora non rilassarvi con un bel film al Cineworld seguito da una tranquilla partita a bowling nell’Hollywood Bowl.

Suppongo adesso abbiate fame, c’e’ solo l’imbarazzo della scelta: italiano, cinese, americano, giapponese, messicano, oltre ai sempreverdi fast food che in un centro commerciale non possono proprio mancare!

Per smaltire il pranzo, poi, avete due modi: un po’ di corsa e qualche esercizio nella Nuffield Gym, oppure un po’ di shopping! Numerossisimi sono i negozi concentrati nel centro, in particolare di articoli sportivi, ma non solo.

Per finire? Un cocktail in uno dei bar ed una eccitante giocata al Casino (nel caso in cui non foste ancora riusciti a spendere tutti i vostri soldi!!)

Una qualita’ di Xscape che va precisata e’ che, sebbene sia cosi’ carico di sezioni  e zone, non e’ eccessivamente vasto e tutto e’ ben raggiungibile e raccolto in un unico edificio. Insomma, non sara’ certo la distanza ad impedirvi di trascorrere una giornata cosi’ piena presso questo centro…ma il vostro portafogli si !!

What if I said you could ski, fly (!), making climbing, bowling, eat, go to the cinema and shopping, all in the same day and in the same place?! I think you would be thrilled!

Well, it’s not impossible … just make a quick trip to Xscape! http://www.xscape.co.uk/milton-keynes 

Xscape is a “special” shopping center that offers the opportunity to spend an entire day indoor, perfect for a winter Sunday for example … oh no, it’s September and I’m already talking about how to spend Sundays in winter..yes, I’m just in London! In Puglia I would be doing my last swim!

It ‘s located in Milton Keynes, about an hour and forty minutes drive from London and can also be reached by train or bus (National Express for example).

Xscape is more an entertainment centre than just a shopping center, because inside contains an endless array of activities to be done!

First of all, and perhaps the most surprising, it’s the Airkix, an indoor flight. Worn the suit, aviator glasses and helmet, you can literally abandon yourself in a big pipe with a strong current of air coming out of the floor that allows you to soar high! Of course you will be accompanied by the instructor who will eventually also offers a mini performance of its aerial acrobatics and gives you the diploma of flight!

Satisfied by the air activity, what you need is an exercise more terrestrial. Why then don’t you find yourself in the mountains ?! You could start with a nice climb of high climbing wall installed in one of the sporting goods stores and continue with an hour of skiing in Snozone that precisely recreates a ski slope with lots of snow and chairlift as well as the opportunity to hire the entire outfit! (Imagine the scene of a summer day here: walking through the center you can meet the boys in bermuda, people with the snow suit and boots and people with bowling shoes perhaps!)

But why now don’t relax yourself with a good movie at Cineworld followed by a quiet game of bowling at the Hollywood Bowl?

I suppose you are hungry, you’re spoiled for choice: Italian, Chinese, American, Japanese, Mexican, besides the evergreen fast food in a shopping center just cannot miss!

I would say now you should dispose what you have eaten..two ways available: a bit of racing and some exercises in the Nuffield Gym, or a little shopping! A lot of shops are concentrated in the center, in particular sports, but not all.

To finish? A cocktail in a bar and an exciting play at the Casino (in case you were not yet able to spend all your money !!)

Another quality of the Xscape is that although it’s so load of sections and areas, it’s not overly broad and everything is easily accessible and collected in a single building. In short, there will not be the distance to prevent you from spending a day so full at this center … but your wallet is !!
